Buying Tips

Moving house is an exciting time, but it's also stressful. Not only is it the biggest financial decision you're likely to make, it's an emotional one too, as it's your home, not merely a house. So it's important we get it right. And that encapsulates our philosophy: We provide property solutions

  • Always consult your bank, broker or financial advisor to assist in arranging the best loan to suit your requirements
  • Narrow down your areas of choice, keep in mind your budget, your lifestyle & type of property you would prefer
  • Meet an agent, it often assists if you have an agent who specialises in your preferred area working towards locating the correct home for you
  • Ensure that agent has a solid reputation of professionalism & integrity
  • In some circumstances an agent can obtain access to other homes that are listed with other agents in their area.  Sometimes this is not possible, but is worthwhile asking the question
  •  Research your chosen areas thoroughly, there are many methods of securing price information and recent sales
  • Check out the amenities the area has to offer i.e. shopping centres & transport
  • Schools are important, particularly if you have or are starting a family, ask the agent for the appropriate schools zones
  • If you find a property that is suitable, ask the agent for a contract for sale, your Solicitor or conveyancer will want to peruse it
  • Don’t be shy in putting an offer forward & remember that ALL offers must be presented to the vendor up until an exchange of contract
  • We would always recommend a building & pest report be obtained by a reliable company with a proven track record of accuracy
  • Try not to choose your building or pest expert solely on the cost of the report, remember you often get what you pay for
  • Your Solicitor or Conveyancer is there to advise you, value their advice
  • If you are bidding at an auction, we would always recommend viewing the Bidders Guide supplied by the Office of Fair Trading, (LINK:
